Why trusting your gut is so critical for business?
This is it! Our very last episode of the first season of Creative Thursday is LIVE. And I might, just might start breathing a little easier again. A labor of love, this project has taken more work and more out of me than I could’ve imagined. And it’s all been worth it!
As it turns out, Outi’s episode which focuses on trust and going with the flow is the perfect end to this first season. Because right now I need to be reminded of the advice she is offering all over again. As I wrap a project I’m incredibly proud of , I’m left with an even stronger desire to continue while simultaneously having no clear idea {yet} about how I’m going to fund the second season...as we say in the episode...something will work out...

And that’s it friends. The truth about life as a business owner: no matter how experienced you are, you never get it all figured out. If you plan to expand, and you must, you will take risks. And you will never know if, how and when they will pay off. But you take the risk because you believe in it, because seeing it through brings the best sense of fulfillment no matter how it turns out. The positive response I’m getting to this first season so far has been fantastic. The intent behind sharing these stories, to educate, inspire, provoke thought and uplift the viewer - it has all been received exactly as I hoped it would. Knowing this, there’s nothing better. For those of you watching, sharing and offering me your feedback. Thank you.
So why is trusting your gut so critical for business? Because when your plan doesn’t go according to plan, you can always return to your intuition and in my opinion - learning to trust that is everything. In fact, a prerequisite to starting any business = trust. It’s once you’re in it and overwhelmed by everything involved in actually running your business, that you can lose sight of that initial knowing.
I believe, as artist it’s our role to observe, to question, to step outside the box and sometimes rebel against the plan. It’s not that we all actively think about doing this, it’s just how we’re built. And these are the very qualities that open us up to self expression. They are the necessary tools for creating our art.
Join Outi and I as we talk about what it means to resist a plan while trying to maintain the structure involved with running a creative business, and always remembering to keep the faith. And for my fellow painters and those wanting to explore painting - you are going to LOVE seeing Outi’s process as she describes how she starts her amazing canvases and completes her newest project, her first wall murals.
Please continue to spread the word, especially for my binge watchers, now that all 6 episodes are LIVE. I’ve been creating short trailers for each episode and posting them to my Facebook page making it especially easy to click and share. Thank you again for all your support in bringing this project to life.
