the {white} rabbit

Animal spirit bunny

The rabbit is a symbol of:

anything you start right now will move forward in leaps and bounds

abundance

comfort

vulnerability

fertility

luck

artistic

Specific meaning to the white rabbit :

an invitation: calling us out of the ordinary into the extraordinary, to let go of what we think is important to explore what is of ultimate importance

possibility

spiritual enlightenment

As you know from my work, I love animals. Always have from the time I was little. In fact, I used to keep a growing collection of stuffed animals. What am I saying 'used to'? Plush animals, particularly handmade, still have an appeal as is evidenced by the fact that I {still} have a collection in my studio right now :-)
Growing up as only child, I definitely felt a special connection with the animal world. To this day they provide a sense of calm, peace and groundedness.
One of the things I’ve learned in this life of mine, it is essential to have symbols of hope and reassurance surrounding us every day and especially during times of challenge or great uncertainty.

For all of these reasons, I have become increasingly curious lately, about the symbolism of animals, their meaning, why we are drawn to certain ones and why they appear in our lives when they do. Why they have appeared in my work in the way they do, and so often in white?! So I have decided to create my own interpretation of spirit animal totems. I have started with 3 so far and this {white} rabbit is the first.

I am including qualities and insight known to be associated with each animal in their descriptions. I hope you will enjoy them and be open to the message they are bringing to you at this time; whether it be one of strength, clarity, abundance, focus, truth, possibility or comfort.

I've had a strong connection to cats since I was little. I don't go around telling people this, because as a 42 year old now they'd probably just think I was a typical mad-cat-lady (although I only have one!), but I do believe that we can have special connections to certain species and individual animals. When I saw a black cat in a shelter where I was volunteering back in 2006, I knew I had to take him home, even though I was broke at the time and he was far from friendly. He now sticks to me like glue and although I still rent we've been extremely lucky with accommodation with gardens and landlords who don't mind pets :)
