emergence of your Highest True Self

Emergence
12 x 9

This painting, I literally saw as it now exists in a dream. It was one of those dreams where I was admiring the painting thinking that someone else had painted it. Then when I woke up I realized it wasn’t someone else’s painting, it was mine. I had dreamt it and therefor created it during my sleep state.

It’s wild when that happens. Have you ever experienced that before? I have  designed entire architectural spaces, clothing, watches...paintings. I try desperately to remember them upon waking but often can’t. This time I did and the image would not fade away from my memory as the days passed on.

The night after I saw this painting, I had yet another dream of 3-D digital rendering of an elephant. While the imagery inspired me I have no desire to re-create it ~ however 2 elephant dreams 2 nights in a row got me curious about the symbolism behind the elephant. I came across this post online and the part that referenced the emergence of your Highest True Self is what hit me.

I know I’ve been quieter than usual on my blog this year. I’ve had to go within more,  for a number reasons, most of which, as you know is due to the writing of a book. I know some people can carry on with a blog as usual while writing a book, however I cannot because I am also carrying on with the business of being an artist behind the scenes, always.

It’s been killing me not to share all the clarity that’s come out of this time and I know I’ve eluded to some of the changes earlier in the year. One of the biggest pieces of clarity has been a major shift in focus that involves going inward more. Seems so counterintuitive in some ways as the internet gets bigger and louder, one should shout louder, no? and yet it makes perfect sense for someone who values stillness, thoughfulness, quiet strength and gentle inspiration. It’s that simple, like Neil suggested in the video I shared with you - make good art. That’s what I want to do most of all. And while there’s still so much more I want to say about this topic, I actually have the last book review sitting in front of me, which means it’s finally time to close this chapter {pun intended} So one more time - I’ll see you on the other side of that final review.

At the beginning of this year, I set a powerful intention, one that maybe for the first time ever I have actually honored. The dreams of the elephants make sense.

true lovely person that you are...you inspire me so much...
so nice lady. and i concur, i've never wanted quiet more than i have lately. to just sit and be quiet. still. sounds just so good, right?
I think of elephants as my "totem" animal. I once dreamed God spoke to me, but s/he was an elephant and we were swimming in the ocean. It was amazing and wonderful and dreaming of elephants does make sense when we're listening to ourselves. I hope this one makes it to the print shop, I wasn't quick enough for the original!
hi wendy! the original is still available!
Just re-checked my site and sorry for the confusion Wendy. For some reason the website marked it sold when it is still available.
Beautiful painting, i loved how that elephant was painted - seems so dreamy. I really enjoyed reading your thoughts on clarity by the way!
Really beautiful work! I love the whole concept of dreams, and I'm surprised this stayed so vivid to you after waking. Great work!
