I don’t know why, now? But for the first time I’ve noticed the baby mockingbirds in the neighborhood. {I’m certain} new babies have hatched every year since I’ve been in this house, but I never heard them before. I think because, this year, one of their nests was up against the edge of our house and I heard their little cheeps loud and clear. Now I that I’m an expert in the call of the cheep cheeps, I can always recognize them mixed in with all the other song birds.
So cute, so fuzzy, I didn’t realize they grow up as fast as they do. In what feels like just a week or so, they are out of the nest and hopping around crying for their parents to bring them some food. They look all tousled and new to the world. So, in honor of the baby birds, a new painting.
