at the circus

At the circus
12 x 9 in.

This one took a little longer than a day.

I’ve actually worked on it for several days over the past week. It was an experiment of sorts. I get so much satisfaction creating a painting from start to finish within a day. But this also means that I don’t give myself the time to work larger and really refine a piece. The reason is that often when I do not complete a project in one sitting, it gets left unfinished, or it will take me forever to complete it. So with this painting, I thought I’d try something different and I did return to finish it {and mostly enjoyed the longer process as there were still moments when I wanted it finished before it was ready} Maybe more detailed pieces to come?

{original is sold} it is now available as a limited edition print at the shop.

It's your best yet
What a great piece.
I love this---especially the colors! And I totally know what you mean about creating a painting (drawing for me) in a day---it's can almost feel like the moment is lost if I try to come back to it another day.
This picture is awesome.
I love it so cute, especially the little elephant!
I love it!!!

the adorable lion gets me every time.
I agree with Lizzy. And it's my new personal fave!!!
I love this too Marisa. I tried to choose my favorite character but I can't. They are all just too darn cute.
The extra detailing and colors are wonderful too
This is definitely one of my new favorites. I love the whimsy in it. And the colors are gorgeous. GREAT JOB!
I love this! The horse and the lion are my favorite.

It usually takes me several days to complete a drawing...it's very rare for me to complete a piece in one day. It's like I get creator's block. I find that if I walk away and return to it later, the creativity comes back and the piece doesn't feel "forced"
thank you lizzy bee!
