honor you more

Photo-1

Truth be told. I participated in my very first craft show at the age of 13.

{you’d think that I might have this down by now ;)}

I sold $100 of my hand painted ceramics. Such a proud day.

There’s nothing quite like selling your work in this way

And, there’s nothing quite like selling your work in this way. Some of the hardest work ever.

And, some of the most rewarding work ever.

On twitter this morning I wrote something like this: to all the artists and entrepreneurs out there who:

create, sell, {travel} set-up and break-down at shows like this regularly. I honor you more.

I think I might be coming back with a podcast on this one, as soon as I get some rest. If only there were 8 days in a week and 36 hours in a day? whaaaaa? am. I. saying. I need a nap.

Thank you to everyone who braved/ignored the Carmageddon warnings and came out to the show this weekend. It was a really great time.

Your set up looks great Marisa! Get some rest.
i love your podcasts!
Marisa, that photo is awesome and it was really great to meet you!
I am very relieved to know that there is at least one other artist living in WeHo and a female at that!
I will be contacting you soon for a get together. Take care, Jenny Smith - Teddy Bear Artist
Awesome set up Marisa, I love your sweet characters and the display really shows them of! Hope you get some rest soon.
What a gorgeous booth! It is really hard to be "on" like that and to sell a part of yourself so openly (without the anonymous middle-man of etsy or some other website). But as a buyer, I also know how delightful it is to meet the artist and gush over their work.
I love your set up and can't wait to hear your podcast on this one. I have felt the same way every time I've done a craft fair, it does a number on my energy level!
Wish we could have been there your space looks so sweet. I must tell you after helen saw this photo of your booth & your paintings in land of nod, she went right up & started designing her own line of characters...she is also still working on an army of Rick rack bunnies too. Thank you for your continued inspiration in our family. Sweet dreams!
I've just been admiring your colourful stand, it looks so pretty, congrats on a successful fair :) I've done a few trade fairs before and it is exhausting yet exhilarating at the same time- a weird combination!
I love this photo. With your work displayed together your beautiful color pallette is really on display, too. I am still loving the fabric. Is it available yet?
i love it. you must share helens characters when she has them all drawn :)
thank you lois! soon! soon! I think its scheduled for release in mid September, however I could get some a little sooner and might be listing some fat quarter bundles in the shop.
