the princess and the pea

The princess and the pea
6 x 8 in.

So I was in a very special yoga class last week ~ one that uses a lot of props to accompany the poses ~ where it’s all about getting your set-up perfectly, well, perfect.

The teacher said something to the effect of how setting up is a little like the 'princess and the pea' and *presto* this image popped into my head. My version of 'the princess and the pea'. The original sold before I could even post it to the blog {thank you Elma!} Best proof ever that taking time for myself is worth it: inspiration {even the kind that earns me income} can strike anywhere. On my better days, I think I might actually subscribe to this idea about how life is supposed to work: that when you are following your bliss, your gut,  your heart, your intuition, your inspiration, whatever you want to call it ~ things just work, well, perfectly.

Oh yes and- Do I ever ~ know what it’s like to need everything to be just so.

{original is sold} {now available as a limited edition print at the shop}

love this. Inspiration comes in all sorts of forms and places.
Love this - really great work - following my heart today and praying for things to work out perfectly. ;)

The Princess and the Pea always makes me think of Drew my man because he always tosses and turns and is unable to sleep if there's even a smallest bit of fold in the sheets.. :)

Oh, if it were just always so easy... A friend of mine and I had a discussion a few weeks ago and she said something really memorable: "The only constraints we have are money and those in our heads." I'm so much striving to actually just do in my life what I want - but these first constraint - the money - makes so much so hard. And (as Holly Becker from decor8 stated in a comment to one of my blogs addressing this issue): "[...] the educational system and the entire work structure in Germany is very limiting and causes problems as an adult if you decide to do something different." I must say, this is true, unfortunately - and makes me admire people like you who do live their dream even more. I sometimes think I'm just too gutless to take the risk.

(Love the picture, btw ;) )
