love is in the air

Love is in the air
6 x 6 in.

The idea for this one came to me while I was cleaning my house. I share this with you because if you are at all like me? you are a free spirit who might *sometimes* get frustrated because the daily tasks of maintaining a life don’t always leave enough room for creative time.

But here’s what I realized today: If you stay open, you can experience creative inspiration no matter what task you have before you. Funny because the painting idea that came to me illustrates perfectly the thought I’m trying to convey. Ideas, opportunity, possibility, creativity and love {of course!} are all around you.

I forgot that focusing on something completely different can be the perfect doorway for a new idea to come in. In fact during the continuation of my house cleaning escapades, I even felt inspired to shoot a short video sharing more about me and some details about "In the Fish Bowl. Life as an Artist Online" ~ for those of you who might be getting know this free-spirited creative for the very first time.

marisa, it's my 1st time commenting on your beautiful blog but had to say how much i love this piece. awesome you made it into your header too! it's incredible you used the perfect words "stay open". another artist i love , alia penner, just made a little video using that same sentiment. i posted it about it on the blog. thank you for sharing such meaningful advice and art.

i love this piece! what a happy bunny!

funny, i recently was driving my long drive to work (when i often think of all the time i spend in the car that could go towards creating) and i too realized that the seemingly prosaic aspects of my life allow the space and time for ideas to bubble up. Or rather, the chores, the tasks are the irritants - my bit of sand - that provoke the oyster into creating a pearl. I'm not saying it all right ... i guess i realized the tasks i previously resented (cooking, cleaning) do balance out my creative life ... giving me necessary time to recharge in some weird way.

Thank you Lynn!! for saying hello and sharing the link to that sweet little film. It is beautiful both in imagery and sentiment!
So true about being open and letting life flow through you and open you to new ways of expression. You are an inspiration to me. I'm trying to find my creative vision after having my child (now 4) and now that he is in preschool, time is opening up. But I often feel like, what direction am I going in? So many ways of expressing, but I'm a painter too, so I'm sticking to that.
