I am thankful for you ~ a holiday giveaway

Somewhere between the pecan pie baking and, a nice day off yesterday,  I realized I completely missed an official post wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!

But it’s never too late to talk about being thankful.

Today it also occurred to me that I tend to yammer on often about how thankful I am to those of you who visit me here, those of you who are my loyal customers, my students, my friends.  In fact so much appreciation for you + the giving spirit of the holiday season {my favorite time of year for this reason, that and the Christmas music of course, and the egg nog, and the decorations... ;)}~ This year I want to do more than tell you, I want to do something special for you. I want to share a gift with you: a very special Creative Thursday care package.

Since I don’t do giveaways very often, we’ll just call this the mother load of giveaways. I’m including a little of everything in this care package going to one of you: a 2011 calendar, a pack of 10 holiday cards, a set of 9 postcards, a set of 7 gift tags, AND a never before released fabric swatch of panda and penguin! AND I cannot forget to include that tiny little jackalope baby ornament up there. He is ready to go to his cozy new home.

I have to say that I am so incredibly thankful for a lot of things lately, but most of all I'm thankful that I have my sisters living so close that we can hang out at any given time or day. It's the best!

Firstly ~ Gratitude for the chance to win such an incredible gathering of your most beautiful creations! I do adore your art so.

Secondly ~ I am quite thankful this for having had 14 years with an amazing friend, Princess Prettypants Ginger. AKA Princess stinkypants. The bestest friend a girl could have had. My heart swells with sorrow and lost but greater than those aches is the warmth I feel from having known such a wonderful little friend. She was sent to 'the long sleep' (as my son put it) the week before Thanksgiving. Her friendship and Love is at the top of my gratitude list.

Oooooh a giveaway that is very pretty!

Today I was so thankful for the 7 people in a mandala workshop I was teaching. Afte rthe workshop was over they stayed in the class 2 more hours to draw and color. And 6 of them had never drawn a mandala before. I was jumping of joy that my enthusiasm hit them and got their creativity flowing again. I am thankful for them allowing me to show them their talents to themselves!

I'm thankful for many things and it often are the little things we take for granted. For example the pot with nice tea my husband just brought me is one of the little things I'm thankful for.

How generous of you! i never win these things, but here's hoping...
I am grateful 'just' to be alive. I know that sounds both trite and melodramatic, but with all the cancer diagnoses and deaths of loved ones in the past few months, I really do feel fortunate just to be conscious and breathing. Makes you realize how fleeting and delicate life is.

I went to the Papyrus store in the mall last week (yes, it was Tuesday and I waited until ALMOST the last minute) to look for your cute Thanksgiving cards and they had none. I was very disappointed.
Today I am thankful that I left my house last night at the perfect time to find a stray dog in the road. She was friendly and hopped right into my car so I could give her a warm place to stay for the night. She is headed to the humane society now, where she will await the perfect person to take her home. Such a sweet little girl!
