inspiration

The longer you are an artist, the more your eye becomes trained to see inspiration all around you.

It’s almost like you can’t help yourself. Every color combination even if it’s a pile of drying roses and the turquoise container that your farmer’s market raspberries came in, that you meant to throw away, but they just looked so pretty laying next to one another on your cutting board that you just had to take an Iphone photo, ok maybe two {with different camera filters} and then you had to use a portion of that new photo in your new blog header and then you might also use those colors in an new painting...

Yes, Marisa! I totally get this. I've been feeling those same things develop over this past year. It's amazing how you can find inspiration in every corner of life. So energizing. So exciting. Love that you already worked this into your header.
I love it! I posted a picture the other day of the inside of a dirty cup - the herbal tea from the night before had left a lovely purple and fuchsia ring inside. It's true that once you start to look, you start to discover beauty everywhere. I love how you used a portion of your photo in your header, it looks gorgeous.
This should definitely go under the "You know you're an artist when..." list. I love it! The other morning I was squeezing face moisturizer onto my palm, and I thought it made the coolest design so I had to sketch it right away. Art geek alert.
that is awesome Cait! cream in the palm of your hand, total art geek alert indeed. And I am loving your title you know you are an artist when... :)
I do this with everything. Especially when driving and I see an instant photo in a view. Sometimes I stop and grab it other times, I just add it to my memory bank and hope to be in the exact same spot for another photo op.....I am an art geek and proud of it....my sister and I even have a thing for product packaging and will sometimes buy each other a gift based on the beauty of the packaging we call it "nice packaging" I love the "You know the you're an artist when"list....could be a thought for the coconuts? Ice breaker?
what is kind app on iphone for the photos? So pretty!!! :)
So true. My Hubby teases me about the random pictures I take of seemingly silly things.

Just finished a quilt top last night solely inspired by the random combination of crayons my daughter placed in my hand one day.
A coconuts 'ice breaker' ~ that is GREAT idea. Consider it done!
Hi Angie, I used the Iphone photos apps. Shake it Photo and Cross Process and they happen to both be by the same developer. They are definitely my two favorite apps at the moment.
love that you made an entire quilt inspired by that!
