a tiny mouse and an even tinier bug

Continuing on with the month of randomness.

Today the digital organizing is all about my photos...and let me say I will do anything to stall on this project. I’ve already done two loads of laundry...and my bookeeping...and...I’m thinking about washing the cat.

But, I have made some progress, because I came across this photo that I "meant to share with you".

You know how I know that I’m creating what’s in my heart? Because when I was little I loved, was obsessed with anything miniature. In fact the tinier the better.

Last summer when I was going through my other clutter clearing phase, I came across this tiny ceramic mouse figurine that used to be one of my favorites when I was a kid. I LOVED it, still do actually. Standing at only 1/2" tall,  the mouse survived the clutter clearing and found a new home on my windowsill in my studio. Then one day, an even tinier bug found a new home on my mouse.

Discovering this photo again, makes me want to turn this into a painting...Can you see now why I gravitate towards painting so small. I don’t know where it came from, but itty bitty things always inspire me. You should’ve seen my dollhouse, another childhood passion, obsession.

a girl after my own heart! Windowsills are a great place for those adorable little critters.

I've never quite figured out what to do with all my miniature stuff -- my dollhouse is still in my parents' attic! (maybe now I can say I saved them for my daughter?)
you definitely should paint this wee one. and, we just visited a dollhouse museum today, which my daughter l.o.v.e.d!
A mouse painting is in order here. I have a small box filled with little miniature creatures and was talking about this the other day. I think Emily would love them. Have to remember to get them out of the garage.
I think it's interesting how we often come back to the things we loved as children. Like the pic with bug!
A dollhouse? Oh I am so jealous. I've always wanted one (still present tense).
I love this! So cute.
Ah, I love hearing about your inspiration. This is perfect and makes so much sense. Fun when those things come together and make sense. How rewarding. And I too, loved my dollhouse. Still so sad I don't have it today. But I do have a few photos to remember it by. My grandparents made it for me and told me Santa dropped it by their house one Christmas and I totally bought it.
I can only think of one thing I don't enjoy in miniture.
