dancing bear

Dancing bear

4 x 4 in.

I think summer has finally arrived in Los Angeles, and having a sunroom {with no insulation in the roof} for a studio is not conducive to painting on hot, hot days. So! I took my paints outside in the garden. The temperature was perfect and two new paintings made an appearance. This is the first and I love it. I think making the bear’s skirt was definitely a highlight. I almost needed tweezers to keep all the tiny papers in place. That and Mod Podge. That stuff does work wonders. Can’t believe I waited so long to use it. Now, I also kind of want to sew a skirt like that for myself?

happy weekend to you!

I love it! I can't believe how small it is...and such detail! Perfect:) Do you know the song Simon Smith and his dancing bear? One of my favorites. It makes me so happy, and so does this painting;)

here's randy newman singing his own tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8hc9XjUe6s

and of course you need to get the muppet version. So happy!
