be it. live it. do it.

Did you know? that Sean and I are teaching an e-course that starts Tuesday April 20?

Here’s the thing, I’m just going to be honest with you and tell you that I have struggled and struggled over just how to put this new e-course that Sean and I are teaching from Paris into the right kind of words that feel real, the right words to convey to you just how much teaching this course means to us.

And as I went to write an email announcing this class yesterday, the words almost came out in the form of a letter, so I wanted to share it with you here too. Whether you take our e-course or not I hope this might inspire you to take your "next step".

'I know that if you read this blog, chances are you are seeking to travel a different path than most, just like Sean and I. And I know that sometimes it can feel like we are walking this path alone.

Our e-course gives you a way to join a community of fellow travelers, as well as be supported by the shared experiences that Sean and I have had on our own journeys.

Because honestly, it isn’t until our arrival here in Paris, that I really, I mean really understand how vital it is to follow the direction that your life is calling you. Maybe you don’t know where your life is calling you? Maybe you are feeling restless and you don’t know what direction to go? Or maybe you know the dream you want to live, but are trying to summon the courage to take the next step?

Taking just one step in the direction you are wanting to go, opens up possibilities in all the areas of your life. It lets you truly begin to understand what it’s like to live in the flow of your life, and that is the place where your world begins to have no more limits. One month ago, Sean and I had no idea how this trip to Paris would come together, and yet here I am writing to you from our apartment in the middle of this amazing city.

If you haven’t already noticed Sean and I are passionate about living a creative life, fulfilled. "Living" is the key word. At some point you have to commit to be it, live it and do it! And over the next four weeks, we are ready to guide you every step of the way. Beginning Tuesday April 20, Sean and I invite you turn one of your dreams from when into now.'

I believe a person’s life is always calling them forward in the direction they are most wanting to go. Fear of change, fear of the unknown keeps us from going. But there comes a point when your life is calling you forward that you begin to listen and decide to go.

I really needed to read this today. Thank you for being such an inspiration! I hope you enjoy your stay in Paris! xo
Can't quite express how much this means to me today. Life Melissa, I needed this. It just rings so true to me right now and I really appreciate you always being so honest. So looking forward to the class!! I feel like I'm back in college just lurking around our office hours hoping some of your enthusiasm and wisdom and shine will rub off on me.
What a great idea! I totally agree that taking one step in a new direction can change everything. It did for me. That said...I've been traveling so much, I'm still on week 4 of the last e-course. Thanks for leaving it up and available to us slow ones!
I love all the photos Marisa! So pleased you and Sean are having a great time (minus of course the ham and bed incident!)
Em x
So excited for class to start and I have loved being an "arm chair traveler" so far along with you on your journey! Your pictures are fabulous and so transporting, I feel like I can get a flavor of the place.
Hi Marissa! This is my first time on your blog and wow. I love it. Thanks for these words today. REALLY needed them. Have a great time in Paris!
Summoning enough courage. I understand. Only mine comes and goes. I found your blog via sfbythebay and can't wait to explore it.
Hi Jocy ~ welcome! and yes, courage comes and goes I think for all of us ~ sometimes it just depends on the day ~ and on the day when its there you take the next step!!!
What a great idea for an e-course! I love that you are encouraging others to dream and to live creatively. And you're right--courage really does come and go when you're embarking on a new project--or a new way of life!
