the spaceman and the sock monkey

The spaceman & the sock monkey
6 x 6 in.

Obviously, the topic of adventure is on the brain.  That and I saw a red sock monkey toy this week, as well as a drawing of an astronaut on a drum set that inspired this combination of characters ~ who I have to say, crack me up every time I look at them. Thank goodness a dream of mine is not to go into space {yet}.

I’ve finally been getting in the habit of replying to comments within the comments section *pats herself on the back*. Typepad makes it so easy now,  I’m surprised I haven’t been "replying" more often ~ then again sometimes it’s just easier to say things to everyone all at once via a blog post ~ like now, for instance. I just want to take a moment in this post to say thank you for all the Paris well wishes and stories you’ve shared of your own adventures. So many of you living abroad, or have lived abroad. I love it!

All I can say is, it’s amazing isn’t? The opportunities that are available for us to have this kind of freedom to travel and live in different countries.

Two weeks and counting.....getting very excited over here!!!

Love it! I hope they have a fabulous time on their space walk!
Adorable. So who is who? Are you the sock monkey and Sean is the astronaut or the other way around? Two weeks! So fast!
It's a cute combo, but I really adore the stars.
Great piece...they look so happy and in peace together :) I'm definitely excited for you regarding Paris and can't wait to see what you post about!
So funny Amber! I want you to know I asked Sean about this and he claimed the astronaut right away and then said to me and I quote you are such a sock monkey :)

This has Miles' name written all over it. He is a little sock monkey! (who also wants to be a violin-playing astronaut).

Love the color and life at your blog...always.

Ooh, I love this painting! Such dreamy blue in the background!
Hi! I agree with Pixie, this would be peeerfect for a boy's room! I received my print yesterday and I love it, it is going right in the studio. Thanks for the inspiration Marisa!
