idolize yourself ~ day 14

How about it? Idolizing yourself?!

Here’s a visit with my co-host, Tank and I on this Monday.

Susannah’s post that also inspired this topic "Would you like you, if you met you?"

Ooh and head on over to Jess' blog Pecannott where she asked me some thoughtful questions, especially about abundance. You should know about this lovely lady not only for her great designs and colorful creations but one of her newest ventures this year, the Pecannoot blog is all about "making every day abundant" ~ you know I LOVE that.

Hey! You are back. =) He's a cutie! Love those fuzzy floppy ears. I agree, it's always a great idea to be our own best friend. And the end makes me laugh!
Great message, Marisa! I think by loving ourselves and being who we truly are, we lift our loved ones up (as well as ourselves). Sometimes it seems the opposite should be true, that we should do and idolize others, but the real beauty comes from within and if everyone reveals their true self, imagine how beautiful this world will be? :)Amy
yes yes yes x
Right on, Marisa!! You articulate things so beautifully and sweetly! Wonderful reminder to love ourselves with that new twist..."idolize yourself". Lots to think about here.

Very powerful video Marisa! Your passion for these ideas really came through. This is something that I am also finding very important right now. As I launch into a new phase of my life, I am constantly realizing how what I think of myself and how I relate to myself can be either the fuel and support for what I'm doing or can make it near impossible. Thanks so much for sharing!
Aww... puppy! This is too cute.

Once again, you made me think, and I am going to think about it in the next several days. =)
Great post Marisa! I love the concept of idolizing yourself- we take so much time out of our lives idolizing others and wanting what they (appear) to have, what a great idea it is to take all that energy and aim it towards ourselves :)

Oh and that little Tank- he's such a sweetie. Give him a cuddle from me :)

Luuvvv puppies - hi Tank! Marisa, glad you are back with the videos...fantastic topic!

These same thoughts came to my mind when I was first struggling with keeping a sketchbook. Usually people post their best pages and I was always so worried that I would have ugly blah pages in mine. I hadn't realized that you only see the things people want to show you, not all the other background stuff. It's easy to fall into being too critical...so it's nice to turn the tables and celebrate the good things, look on the positive side and pat yourself on the back for what you have done! :P Thanks for the reminder!
Tank is just so adorable! Welcome back sweet Marisa! This is such a fantasic topic. :) You made me think and i guess i will be thinking about this topic for the rest of the few good days. It also kinda reminded me of what my dad always tell me : "that we always have to love ourselves before we learn to love others". Maybe this "idolize yourself" too works the same way. Have a lovely merry happy week and love to you!
Hmm... Good thoughts. My struggle right now is that I have no problem with idolizing myself, but a problem with putting up barriers to acting on those beliefs. Sometimes it is self doubt, sometimes it is excuses, but often it is the financial and real-life barriers or time/kids/ desk job. Recognizing me is going a long way to removing those barriers.
Oh, this gave me so much to think about. Thank you, Marisa. I could not have answered yes to this question a couple of years ago but I can honestly say that all of that has been changes over the past year or so. It's been an amazing ride and people like you are a big part of that. Thank you for always sharing so honestly. You are an inspiration (but I think I've said that a few times before). =)
what a wonderful question to ask oneself...hmmmm I'm not sure how to answer that one. I do believe in being real. It is my hope that people I meet in real life say I am the way I portray to be on my blog...I think I just want to stay true to who I am...and who knows maybe others who meet me will be encouraged to be who they "think" they are.
