no rhyme or reason {economy schmaconomy}

Royal buffet

{royal buffet butterfly mobile catching the sunlight in my living room}

In keeping this blog, I always try to keep a "flow" to it, almost like an ongoing story of sorts. Obviously a lot of the ongoing story is and has been "what did I create today" ~ but now with all my new found time :) ...no really...I just decided that I would start a new "regular" post titled "no rhyme or reason" where I can list, share anything I want whether it relates to the the present stream of this blog or not. Because so often I want to post about something and then spend far too much time agonizing about when, how, where. Ultimately does not get posted ~ time to put an end to that scenario.

Beginning with this post. I will not commit to exactly when this post will "air" because I’m just not great about sticking to a "regular" committed schedule, other than posting to this blog :) which I seem to commit to just fine.

For this weeks no rhyme or reason:

Economy Schmaconomy.
These are all handmade creations that I have either purchased over the last 3 months or suggested to Sean for gift ideas to me over the the holidays, my birthday, and valentine’s day. (we like buying handmade over here!)

Since handmade is my livelihood. It goes without saying that I know how important it is to support other artisans. I think that being in support of one another in whatever way is comfortable to you, either financially or spreading the word, can be our own "stimulus package".

Here are some creations I own and LOVE. (consider this some of my Etsy faves, I’ve been promising to share.)

Artisans

In order from left to right, AshleyG, Mummysam, Irene Suchocki, Jqline, Slgdesigns, Royalbuffet.

(by the way, thank you for all your kind comments and emails you sent to me about yesterday’s announcement!)

Your picks are all so lovely!
You have such great taste :)

Buying handmade is definitely the way forwards (and upwards).
As a design spotter, I see a huge lean towards the handmade market and I love that this is happening.

I think that balance will come as we all start to realize that handmade makes much more sense, and it will help us dig ourselves out of this capitalistic hole we're all stuck in.

Hooray for handmade! :D
Marisa, i adore your other picks! They are all very lovely and sweet. Thanks for sharing and more wonderful shops to visit! I couldn't agree more with you and i love all things handmade!

I love the creativity and amazing abundance of love each artist has for the product they create. The effort, thoughtfulness, loves and care each artist puts in is unspeakable. Above all, what inspires me most is an artist following her or his dream and buying handmade does not only allow me to support other artists following their dream but it also inspires me.

Thank you so much for everything...your endless love, support and inspirations! Have a lovely merry happy day and lots of love to you and yours!
Love this post - our own stimulus package - brilliant!! xoxo
This is truly the way to go, especially at this time. It makes me feel so great when I buy a gift for someone from Etsy or a local artist. It's helping make that artist's dream come true. What's better than that?

And I'm so glad you loved your Blueberries photograph. =) Now I'm off to track down that bunny top, too cute!
Thanks for sharing.

I couldn't agree more- buying handmade goods is so rewarding because you know you are helping support someone else's dream -and obviously it's wonderful for me too because I get to receive lots of lovely goodies in the post! ;)

U inspire me!
Love to see you're going with the flow. I also hate fretting over blog posts. Blogging should be fret-free at all times!

I'm crushing on that butterfly mobile. So sweet!
i totally agree! what a perfect time to spend on things you absolutely love rather than binge shopping at target. i buy handmade more often than not and i'm always thrilled that i did. it's such a great way to share creative energies, too-what an inspiring marketplace we have available to us now!
It's been too long since I visited. I've had a bit of a spell with the cute art issue around my parts lately and today decided to defend myelf a bit. It made me think of you and how gracefully you handled that time in your career. So I am grateful that you openly share so much in your blogs. Because your words were in the back of my head as I wrote. Thanks for being you.
What gorgeous choices and I especially love the butterfly mobile.
Best wishes for your exhibition in May !
