My appreciation for my co-workers

The Lu

All this talk about Lulu and I realized I don’t really have a clear picture of her here in recent blog history. And she’s cute as a button.

This photo above is how she looks at me through the door to my studio when she either a) wants to come in or b) thinks we are going on a walk soon...
Let’s just say that a fair portion of each day, especially since my studio connects to the outside, is spent letting certain co-workers in and out. Does anyone else out there have that in their job descriptions?

Really, truly with the Lu being sick on Sean’s party just a week ago (she’s better now, thank goodness) ~ I would have it no other way. I realized just how much I adore and appreciate her. She seriously is one of the most loving dogs you’ll ever meet. A rescue from a Denver Animal Shelter 9 years ago now, it’s like she’s never forgotten that she was given a second chance and a home.  Even with the shenanigan’s that go on here in our home every day ~ the humor, the affection and unconditional love (except from Garbo...she’s conditional) we get from these hooligans is as they say "priceless" ~ so I wanted to honor them in this post today ;) You know my other co-workers, Garbo and Riley...

And speaking of appreciation of our dog friends ~ you’ve got to head over to Leigh’s blog and check out her project for 2009 ~ I’ve been a long time fan of Leigh and her beautiful portraits and now you get a chance to have her paint one for you!

hope you had a good Tuesday ~ and be sure to hug your co-workers!

Marisa, your co-workers are really adorable! I'm gald lulu is feeling much much better...she does have this loving, caring and tender look on her. Garbo and Riley are both looking very smart!

I don't have such adorable co-workers at my creative workspace but i do have a few good workmates from my day job and i gave them a little hug just now and they were so supprised! haha I just told them is co-workers appreciation day from Creative Thursday blog! hehe

Have a lovely merry happy day! Love to you!
Love the photo of Lulu and glad she's feeling better. My furry co-worker is my 7 year old beagle, Dexter. And I know the "Are we going on a walk soon?" look all too well. He'll position himself at various angles if he thinks I'm not getting to his request fast enough and stare. It's hard to ignore and not laugh at. He also has an uncanny belly clock that knows exactly when it's lunchtime and dinnertime. Pet shenanigans are the best. I love my co-workers! The other is my husband. :)
Hi Marisa,
I like your black cat. So elegant!
I have company too my cocker spaniel Nala.
I enjoy your blog very much and love all of your new creations. The stoneware is beautiful!

ps. Come to my blog I am having an art box givewaway...see you there!

Lulu is wonderful! I have two "design assistants" named Hugo and Rose, and they simply must be in the art studio with me when I'm creating. They prefer that the door stay open, so as not to miss any squirrel chasing opportunities.
I loved your post and your "co-workers" are adorable! I dream of the day when my co-workers will also be of the animal variety :) And I'm sure my rescue cat Wylie would agree!
Nope, you're not the only one with that duty. I swear one of mine makes it a challenge to see how many time she can get me to open/close that door! My cats are all rescues in their own way...Gracie's mamma was a stray, let's say free-spirited gal that somebody finally got a hold of & fixed before she had another litter, Cry Baby's owners in our neighborhood had too many cats and he decided the love and food he got here was better and Min (Menace) is somehow related to Cry Baby and she also decided that living at our house was a much better deal. Thank goodness the neighbors finally got a grip on their overflowing cat situation or we'd be know as the crazy cat people too. They're now down to one (Menace's brother) who visits, but is very unwelcomed by the others....
I love a good in-appreciation-of-my-four-legged-coworkers post!

Lulu is beautiful. Love her ears!! Yes, the door opening, closing, opening, closing is in my job description too, but I'd be lonely if I didn't have my German Shepherd co-worker Shadow by my side all day. The best thing is: now that he's three, he's grown up a bit, so he doesn't even steal my stuff anymore!

And in appreciation of his company, I just finished a drawing of him. I can't believe it took me this long! - a present for my fiance's birthday :)
You've got the best kind of coworkers in the world!
I also have that in my job description--my dog Lance (a German Shepherd mix) will even go so far as to come up to me and start nudging his head into my lap to get my attention. The afternoons are punctuated with his groans and whines as he thinks we should be going for a walk, now! I do love four-legged co-workers, and yours are very cute!
Aren't our 'co-workers' just little angels with paws ;-))
