Hi Marisa,

I Enjoyed listening to your podcast and completely agree with you on everything you discussed, especially on'change takes time!'.

As I'm trying to develop my creative business I am also working fulltime, which is frustrating when you want to spend more time on creating and promoting. Until the day my creative business flourishes, I have to accept that that my creative business may develop slower than others.

Without sounding cheesy, can I also say you have a beautiful voice :-)

WoW!! I love this and what a perfect way to start my day. Coffee, cat in lap and listening to your podcast. This is the first one I've heard but I do plan to take sometime over the weekend to get caught up and listen to some others. I agree that change takes time. I also think that it can be very scary at times but necessary and also very exciting. I've been struggling with creative "change" lately so it's been very helpful listening to your take on it. I also just finished reading The War of Art. Thanks Marisa! Have a great weekend! :-)
What a great picture. You are just so cute.
Have fun today.

Happy Halloween

Hugs,
Karen
Is a nice reminder that “change” takes time. Sometimes, I think a lot of times I forget. >_< Thank you so much Marisa for your podcast.
I also agree, at least for me, that change takes time. Some people are able to jump head first in a new direction, where I like to test the waters a bit and make sure It's really want. I've had a habit of opening a new shop for six months or longer before I have the courage to close an old one. I've kept all my businesses endeavors fairly small so that I can be more hands on, rather than growing too big with one that doesn't satisfy my interest long, or burns me out. I've always said,"it's easier to close a small business than a big one." Maybe I'm just chicken? Who knows.... I just want to be happy doing want I love. That comes first, and if I can make money at it, that's the icing on the cake. I have been self employed most of my life now, and love the ebb and flow of change even when it feels scary. I once got a fortune cookie that said," I never know what's going to happen next, all I'm certain is that there is always a next." That totally describes me to a T!
As far as our future as a nation goes, It will be hard, but It will also be worth it. Its time for all of us to really take stock in our lives, and rebuild our relationships with the world and each other. Why wait for a natural disaster to hit to see show our neighbors we care?

Sorry, I didn't mean for this comment to be so long, I'll leave now and go indulge myself with some leftover halloween candy! Karin
Hey Marisa

Great podcast! One thing I have noticed is that change does take MUCH MUCH longer than you expect and I do find myself getting frustrated with how slow my business is evolving. But the comment you said (which I loved) was that we should always try to notice the progress we've made rather than focus on where we've fallen short- something I haven't been doing! And when I heard that comment I realised that I have made a huge amount of progress- which made me smile. So thanx again Marisa!
Hi Marisa

This link is not active anymore for some reason.
I'd really want to hear this podcast, I don't want to miss any of them! :)

With best wishes
Kristel
Podcasts take a long time indeed, especially if you are not the type to just ramble on in front of a microphone. I know, because I run a video podcast.

Changing things up is great, but those pleateaus are valuable as well. If you are just changing constantly, then you don't even have time to look back and think about what changes had taken place. It's like joining a tour group that takes you to quite a few different spots, but they only allow you 10 minutes to get off the bus and take some pictures, while spending most of the time on the bus heading to the next destination. You never get to experience the changes if you are just constantly changing. You lose your reference point and perspectives pretty soon that way.
Marisa,

I stumbled on your blog today and have no idea how I got here. But I would like to say thank you for this podcast. It's what I've been looking for especially after a weekend of questioning myself on why I'm not giving myself time to do things for myself. It all boils down to change. There are things I want to change and I'm so scared to make those small steps and sacrafices to get to where I want to be. It's great to hear, even though we all know, that change takes time. We all have to start somewhere, right?

Thank you for your inspiring & motivating words!
It is true, change takes time. Like you, I get impatient. Sometimes when I look how far i've come do I see how much I have changed. Being gentle with myself is the way I've learned to cope with my impatience. I always enjoy your podcasts.
