this where I’ve been, still am, and will continue to be

I kind of fell off the face the earth into patio furniture land. I didn’t even offcially get to wish you a happy weekend, because on Friday we bought some new chairs + ottomans for our garden. They were on sale just this week, so we had to move fast. The ottoman’s are a MUST by the way. If you’re feeling frugal, like you "don’t really need" an ottoman to go with the chair. You do. An ottoman, I’ve realized, is essential. And if there are two of you, you can’t share either ~ you must have your own, which is why yesterday morning we were out again, to get the second ottoman. My entire life I don’t think I’ve truly had comfortable patio furniture. While these are not vintagey and cool, (I’ve found that vintagey and cool does not always cut it in the comfort department) they are some of the most comfortable chairs I’ve ever sat in. Did I mention that they rock too? They’re from Target, and they even come with the faux "embroidered" crewel throw pillow ~ a nice little bonus!

Needless to say with our now summer like weather this weekend, this is where we’ve parked ourselves ~ except for jumping into the ocean early this morning for surfing then a fun breakfast visit with Mark and John. Really once I sit down, I can’t get up. Good thing there’s an outdoor electrical outlet close by, so I can bring the ol' laptop with me, as this might just have to be my new office.

hope you’re having a beautiful weekend....I’m headed back to my chair.

I so love your new patio furniture, and, honestly, this post couldn't have come at a more opportune time. We are also trying to buy some outdoor furniture, and running into some scary pricetags. Yes, there ARE the plastic pieces from Stop n' Shop, but I wonder if the squirrels might crawl up the feeble plastic umbrellas and snap them in two. TARGET. I hadn't thought of that.

Oh, and WE MISS YOU!!XXOO
Marisa - I love the new furniture. We too have purchased patio furniture from Target and love it. We got a wooden "loveseat" which sits on my screened in porch and I spend a good amount of the spring, summer (with the ceiling fan on high), and fall out there reading in the evenings when the kiddos are in bed. Since spring has not really arrived in Kansas yet, I have only gotten to do the heavy duty spring cleaning on the porch, not enjoy it yet!
Great looking chair and ottoman. I'm so glad that it's comfortable too. Sometimes that isn't always the case when it comes to furniture.
I'm looking forward to quality time in my chair this summer too.
sweet!
bryce and i are looking for deck furniture.
we have been using the old vintage stuff
for years. the ottoman must is great
advice.

happy monday!
What a cozy spot! I like the garden. I'm still surrounded by snow up here in Alaska! You lucky ducks!
Oh, how I long for summer to come! Here in Montreal, we go straight from winter to summer it seems. Enjoy to the fullest your beautiful weather and your new patio furniture.

I so don't blame you! It my patio funiture were the least bit comfy I'd be there too. This is my first visit to your blog. Your paintings are just lovely!
Did you happen to see the mushroom garden markers and the different gnomes in the Sean Conway collection? After seeing these chairs I can tell what my new Target addiction will be......
This chair looks so comfortable -- have fun on your sunny patio! :)
And congrats on getting in -- I'll see you on June 14!
I'm soooooo jealous!! Today in England its 2 degrees centigrade and frosty! Brrrrrrrrrr. Cant wait for the summer...........
[...] And last but not least, the cutest little snow owl tea cup from Anthropologie. I’ve seen this little fellow around and finally decided that I needed to acquire him after all. He ships as a set of two and I have to say that I don’t really see him as a tea cup, more like a bud vase or pencil holder, or just cuteness in your home. It’s such a treat to be surrounded by inspiring creations ~ and a recommended must like the ottoman. [...]
this does look like a comfortable place to spend the day. I love your patio funriture choice
Wow, are those furniture made of iron? Obviously, it's a really good choice for gardens. I've seen the patios of my neighbors, and many of them are using iron chairs and ottomans, too. There's just something about iron that makes furniture pieces look like they really belong outdoors.
