Comfort and Joy in NY

That’s what I’m in need of ~ Comfort and Joy, and thankfully, it is that time of year where that’s exactly where I’m headed. I’m off for our Thanksgiving Holiday. And it couldn’t come at a better time. I’m also so very ready for some holiday fun and maybe a little pumpkin pie and eggnog!

In the meantime, a quick note with more details about my upcoming show I mentioned. I’m showing with my "lovely" friend Cathy Nichols. And I say "lovely" first of all because she is so lovely, but also because I say (and write) "lovely" all the time because of my friendship with Cathy. She said it first! :) And it seems that I’ve inherited this lovely expression.

But I’m also so proud to be a part of this show with her. Cathy was one of the very first artists I met who encouraged me to believe in my work. I met her just 4 years ago now at our co-op in Venice. It’s always so exciting to see how far we’ve come in such a short time. Just another reminder to you to believe it’s possible.

I hope, if you are in the area, you can stop by a very special gallery, the East Village Collective, in Woodstock New York. The opening reception is Friday December 7 from 5-9 pm and the show runs through February 1.

I have so many things to tell you that I’m completely, in the words of one of my favorite Mike Meyers characters, "verklempt", so in the meantime, I’m wishing you a very, very Happy Thanksgiving, if you are here in the US. And it goes without saying, that no matter where you are, I am so very thankful to each and every one of you who have shown your support to me and Creative Thursday, especially over this past (amazing) year.

Love to you ~ Marisa

Happy Thanksgiving!

"I have so many things to tell you" Such torture! I want to know now now now now now now. And if one of those 'things' is your own line of fabric, I will be the happiest person on the planet.
If was wonderful to talk to you before you headed up north. I've really missed our regular chats, but now that I'm back, we have lost time to make up for. And congrats on the new house, I can't wait to see it. :)
Hi Marisa,
I am back from my Holiday too. It's fun to see your new pictures and read about all that's happening in your neck of the woods.
Congratulations on your upcoming show in New York. I wish you the best.
[...] When I said I had so much to say in my post before Thanksgiving, it’s because I do! Exciting projects are on the horizon, but I’m not ready to talk about them just yet. This post is more about me having some things on my mind that I’m wanting to share. Sometimes when I have a lot to say, instead of saying it, I say nothing and then become overwhelmed by all the things I meant to say combined with all the now new things I want to say. You see! Now you know why I podcast ~ these thoughts and things have to get expressed somewhere ~ I’m so very much missing the podcast these days, which I will get back to soon, but I’m no longer making empty promises of when that will be exactly. There is so much I am wanting to do, and since this has been quite possibly the busiest 8 weeks of my life (and I say this having already lived most of my life with no lack of interesting and busy times, including many moves…) it has also been an adjustment for me not to become completely overwhelmed, and hard on myself, with the feeling like everything is falling behind, at a time of year when you already feel behind as soon as Thanksgiving is over.
