doodles & sketches

I thought I would share this one with you today, just incase you are curious about "My Process". I was talking to my friend via Skype this afternoon, about to start on my painting for the day, and decided to doodle on the back of a piece of mail~ from the bank actually. I’m not really a serious or elaborate sketcher. I like to doodle very loosely, leaving room for "all of my creativity" to go into the actual piece. Sometimes this particular process is how new characters make their appearance, if I just let the pencil wander over the paper.

Oh, yes and the numbers to the right of the image, are the times that Ocean Ave. Seafood in Santa Monica is having its Oyster Happy Hour ~ which my oh so kind neighbor Erika and I plan to attend...real soon! Anyone else out their a fan of the oyster on the half shell...or are we the only ones?

Thank goodness for Skype...how would we connect nowadays without all this technology?! :)
It's always nice for us beginners to see the "process." Sometimes we come to page, probably much as you do, staring at it with awe and trepidation of "where do I start?" I like the idea of doodling to get the juices flowing. It sounds much like the process of writing doesn't it? Just do it! right? Thanks again for the adversity challenge. I quite enjoyed that. Have a wondermous day!
Mmm...oyster on the half shell. Good to know that there is a happy hour at Ocean Ave. Seafood! Thanks for sharing!
No oysters for me, but I do recommend the new Vanilla Bake Shop for cupcakes on Wilshire at 5th. They just opened yesterday and I have already been twice.
Oh, Michelle! I just read about that bake shop, was it yesterday? in the daily candy. That\'s it, I\'m sold ~ with your recommendation I\'m going to have to try it now. Thank you for sharing! I\'m wondering, what is the best cupcake to try there?
