Podcast #28 :: Secrets of Dealing with Adversity

my dad, me and my dog Freckles at our home in Tehachapi California, winter 1978

I was recently tagged by my good friend from Colorado, Laura, with a tagging experiement with the topic of "Secrets to Dealing with Adversity". Instead of blog this one, I thought I would podcast it.

I also want to add one more secret that I forgot to mention in the podcast. If all else fails take a nap, and get a good night sleep. Somehow rest always manages to comfort me and shed new light on a situation.

These are the bloggers I am tagging. I don’t really like to "bother" anyone with writing about something that doesn’t inspire them. But if you do feel like writing about this subject, I have chosen to tag you~ because I would love to hear your thoughts on your "secrets to dealing with adversity". (thanks in advance if you choose to participate)

All I can say is AMEN SISTER!!!!!
Thankyou that was WONDERFUL!
You are amazing...your words are right on. It is all about choice. I love your podcasts because your voice is soothing and melodic. I'm up for the challenge! I might not get it finished until Saturday as I'm finishing a class...but you never know when the creative call will come, do you? Thanks for this opportunity. XOXO Marie
Hi there!

I wanted to personally thank you for participating in my tagging experiment from Adversity University. While I couldn't hear your words (I'm deaf), I do want you to know how much I appreciate you participating in this fun experiment.

From the reaction you got from your readers, I can tell you touched and uplifted them with your words. Bravo!

Sincerely,
Stephen Hopson
Thank you all for your comments! I was concerned about how this one might be received, as it was more personal for me and touched on the subject of death, a topic avoided by most of us, yet an absolute in our lives.
Stephen, thank you for inspiring such a thoughtful topic and for stopping by the blog. I'm so sorry you couldn't listen to it, but since I write my podcasts before I record them, I will send you a transcript shortly.

thank you for another amazing podcast. its weird how i happened across your artwork and podcasts by chance and i am so grateful for that great stroke of luck- i hope you know how deeply moving and poignant your thoughts are. i lost my mom when i was about 22. it takes a lot of courage to talk about death and you handled it with such artistry and grace. and what an incredible message about adversity, perception and the power of choice in this podcast. i love your work in all forms, can't thank you enough for sharing your wisdom and insights.
Thank you so much for writing and sharing from the heart. Your podcasts and videos are full of inspiration.

Also: this photo is fantastic.
