I have arrived

Having just celebrated a birthday with cake, champagne, the super bowl and of course a bit of reflection. I can genuinely say "I have arrived"...but in the defintion I am about to share with you.

How do you know when you have arrived?

The lovely Holly over at Decor 8 said it perfectly, "it comes from experiencing a lot at a young age and knowing that you have "arrived", you have nothing to prove anymore. I don’t mean arrived as in big success, fame, riches, power, etc. I’m talking about an affair of the heart and mind. When both agree that you are doing exactly what you need to be doing in life and you know it and own it."

Special thank you to Holly for choosing Creative Thursday and the podcasts as blog of the week; also, for sharing her story about how she chose to follow her heart to find her creative fulfillment. If you get a moment I highly recommend reading this post .

And, yes, about the podcasts... I will be BACK with new episodes in a couple of weeks. All of the newest podcasts will be right here at my blog. In fact you can join Holly and I as we explore some thoughts on Creative Living together, so stay tuned...

I ask you too, "have you arrived?"...at least for now!

I finally think I have...but it has taken a while!
at 30 i thought i arrived and all the hard work carried me where i wanted to go. by 31 a series of life events prompted me to loose hold of everything. i'm nearly 32 and pulling my head out from under the covers knowing more than i had before with a new direction that feels closest and more genuine than anything has before because it's born from a place that is true to who i am. i haven't arrived at my new destination yet, but I am so looking forward to the day when i can say I have. thanks for these lovely posts.
I read Holly's post last week. Then I started checking out your site. It resonated with me, but not from experience. I related to hope. Inspiration. I haven't arrived. It's not from a lack of trying. I'm embarrassed to say I'm 38 (how did THAT happen?!!). None of you know me so I can admit it anonymously. I don't have to worry about being a discouragment to those younger than me. I've have had success in my life, but none in areas that I feel are really me. I feel that I myself am the biggest missing component in my life.

So I'm glad to have read these posts at this particular point in my life. I haven't arrived... but I think I can tack on the end the word "yet".

Thanks!
