And this series and an interesting week has come to a close. I’m often torn as to whether to add comments to the paintings I post, as sometimes I like the painting to simply speak for itself. But, today I have a few things to say. I am part of the "daily painters" blog and this week there has been quite a bit of discussion as to what defines a "daily painter". Well the term certainly is defined by artists who paint every day, and then to take it a step further it includes a group of artist’s who paint and post their work online for sale every day. The beauty of this as a viewer, a blog visitor, is a special insider glimpse into the studio of each artist. You are in touch with what each artist is experiencing daily. You can watch their process, as they evolve and join them on the journey of daily creation, maybe to inspire your own creativity or interest and inspire you as a buyer. This week I chose to do a series that I will call the "magazine series". Each painting, an expression of my experiences every day this week, once complete received a clip from a magazine article, then attached to the painting. This was incredibly fun, because my "rule" was to randomly open the magazine and see what words on that page fit with painting. It worked every time! As a "daily painter" in both definitions stated above, I hope you are enjoying the art and this blog - a glimpse into my world as an artist who loves to paint and a person continually finding their way :)

I looked at my clover plant today and a beautiful lilac bloom was there. I’ve had this plant for years and between me being somewhat of neglectful plant waterer and Garbo the cat eating it, it has almost left us several times. Somehow it stays strong and comes back from one leaf to many; and today it has flowers! I’m taking it as a good sign, that things are blooming...(sold)

To repeat what I wrote in my daily painting email for today. I just want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you who signed up to get the daily paintings, and to those of you who have purchased them. I LOVE creating these! And to know that you are looking forward to seeing the newest painting every day is a thrill for me. And to all of you who visit this blog and leave wonderful comments a special THANK YOU to you too!

Couple of things I want to say in regards to this one. It really is 3 am :). The idea was inspired by a yoga class with Leslie. She shared a "yoga" story with us at the beginning of class that had to do with a fish that was swimming calmly amidst the waters where 3 rivers were merging, with the idea being: how important it is to remain in a state of calm and gently swaying while all is moving about you. As an entrepreneur, I’ve found that waking various hours of the night comes with the territory, sometimes caused by anxiety, often an idea in the making... I used to fight it, toss and turn, end up cranky the next day. I recently heard that if you are woken up early in the morning, these can be some of the best moments for inspiration. I like this interpretation and I tend to agree, so now I get up and paint and sometimes these odd little paintings, often some of my favorites, come forth where sleepy little characters appear. like this one flower @ 4am. is anyone else up this early? And the yellow series continues....and of course I had to get at least one owl in this week. Again, this process of "daily painting", it is truly interesting to see what shows up every day. Sometimes I have no idea until minutes before I sit down to paint. I’m having just as much fun seeing what I create as you do. I highly, highly recommend challenging yourself to create every day. You’ve got it in you, you just don’t know that it’s there until you try. And, ultimately I guess this applies to just about everything. (sold)
