Last week I was going to stop blogging and this week I was going to stop painting :-)
It’s true. I recently told a friend of mine, "I’m thinking about quitting." {I was referring specifically to the retail side of my business}
As I mention in the podcast, I think it’s healthy to question why you are doing what you are doing, to explore the possibilities of quitting sometimes and this is why.
Allowing yourself the momentary relief that comes with imagining stopping everything, is exactly what you need to reinvigorate the continuation of what you really do LOVE.
Because let’s face it, sometimes it feels like life, meaning everything outside of us, is taking the lead instead of us leading us - which is precisely why it’s important to pay more attention to the natural ebb + flow.
Needless to say, I’m not quitting anything. Saying it out loud only helped me to better clarify where I really do want to go next.
BTW - loved hearing from you last week. Thank you for talking with me and letting me know a few of you are indeed still here!

After all the flower painting, I missed my characters :-)

Who do I think I am? Who am I to think, with so many voices out there, you are still interested in hearing mine?
I’ve been reading/listening to 'The Big Leap'. It’s a game changer. Have any of you read it? Highly, highly recommend the audible audio edition.
This particular episode isn’t about the book, although I’m dying to talk to you about it - this is about a 4 week commitment I’m GOING {that’s me shouting to convince myself} to follow through on, all because of 'The Big Leap'.
Also, and hey! are you still here?
I’m extremely conflicted about blogging, if I want to keep it? and if I do where I want to go with it? Is it place just for the latest and greatest news or creations or is it going to be a place where you can always count on me to be? Is it the place where I’m really going to talk to you and let you in on my journey and process again?
What do you think?
And how do you feel about blogging vs. social media in general these days? Are we still reading/visiting blogs?
I do not read blogs at all like I used to. In fact I often find myself wanting to withdraw from following {almost} everything online and instead spend more time visiting with people in person. Honestly I think the community we’ve found in the neighborhood I live in has a lot to do with that shift. Because however we get it, we do need community.

It’s no secret; flowers and photographing them is a great source of inspiration for me.
What started as a gift for my aunt, painted outside at 'The Porch' during our weekly gathering with the neighbors, became a series of 6.
Not new, painting flowers. Just another call back to earlier work revisited in my now style.
My adventures in painting continue...

It’s safe to say I’ve, slowly but surely, been reevaluating and reinventing my business since the beginning of 2014. Unravelling and completing projects and collaborations, to make space for the new. I think, the most important part of being in business is a willingness to check in often, to see if where you are headed is really where you want to go? {I’m sure I’ve mentioned that before because honestly it’s equally as important to check in with your daily life} After almost a decade working alongside a rapidly changing world and internet, it’s becoming increasingly clear where I want Creative Thursday to fit in the marketplace. While it’s still forming I know it goes something like this: more ~ thoughtful, quality, visionary art and creations from the heart. I also want to provide my customers, with elegant, clear options to choose what you love with confidence and ease.
An introduction to this new direction: a collaboration with Framed & Matted! As the featured artist in their Artist Spotlight series this month, I’ve chosen 3 images to start with. Each print can be purchased individually or a s a set of 3. If this is something you think you’ll enjoy, having beautifully finished fine art prints, complete and ready to hang, we might expand the offering in the future.

For the longest time I’ve wanted to provide and recommend quality framing options for my customers - finally I can! A lovely family owned business "We believe that great custom framing should be affordable and approachable. With only high quality materials, we have simplified the custom framing experience so our customers can find the perfect frame at an exceptional value."
You will recognize the warmth, quality and attention to detail with each framed piece. For a limited time you can purchase this series of prints here.
